What are the food-related issues that you are most interested in or concerned about?
Equitable access to land, gardens, etc. Tompkins Co. is getting more expensive, and accessible land is becoming increasingly scarce. Current government policy is at best unsupportive, so I am concerned with building a coalition to help change this policy, while also working through government channels on the policy council.
What life experience, or skills, or knowledge could you bring to the Council?
Running a small town community garden with at-risk youth in Montana; political organization; involvement with Project Growing Hope (Ithaca Comm. Gardens); rural development in Peace Corps in West Africa.
